Stars of the 21st Century Galas have become an integral part of each city’s cultural fabric and are highly anticipated annual events that dazzle audiences and please critics. Our performances are driven by excellence and a long standing tradition rooted in classical Russian ballet. Through the medium of dance we pursue the arts in attempt to educate and create cultural dialogues with audiences worldwide.
Since its establishment in 1993 in Toronto, Canada, by Producer Solomon Tencer and his wife and business partner, Artistic Director Nadia Veselova Tencer, the all-star Gala project has gained worldwide recognition and following. The Premier Ballet Gala honouring Alla Osipenko, a legend of Kirov Ballet, was followed by a Tribute Gala in Memory of Rudolf Nureyev in 1995 and ultimately by the World Opera Gala featuring winners of the 5th Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition in1998. Due to the overwhelming success locally, Solomon and Nadia expanded their production company and brought their one of kind International Ballet Gala concept to the great stages of the world.
In 1998, Stars of the 21st Century Gala performed at the prestigious Theatre des Champs-Elysee in Paris to sold out audiences.
Followed in 1999 by the enormously successful End of Millennium Ballet Gala des Etoiles du XXIe Siecle at Palais des Festivales, in Cannes, France.
In 2000, the Millennium International Ballet Gala, Stars of the 21st Century had a premier in New York City at the New York State Theatre, Lincoln Center.
In 2010, Stars of the 21st Century Gala Century held a prestigious Grand Opening Gala for the Sony Centre for Performing Arts in Toronto and made its first appearance at the Kremlin Palace Theatre in Moscow. In attendance were world luminaries and high ranking politicians of the Russian Federation, as well as local press and TV stations.
